The 2021 COVID Lockdown in Sydney is continuing on, that doesn’t mean though that Counselling isn’t an option.
Yes, at present my Counselling sessions need to be conducted online.
If this is OK with you, we do have some availability for new and existing clients.
How are online Counselling sessions different to face-to-face?
Well, there can be some advantages for you in talking to a Counsellor over a system such as Skype, Zoom or Google Meet.
Firstly, you don’t have to worry about coming to my office, finding parking etc.
You can be prepared at home in a comfortable and quiet place, perhaps with a cup of tea and some notes about what you would like to talk about.
Naturally, as compared to being in the same room as someone, some degree of personal connection may be lost, however I have found that after a small amount of time within in a session, this tends to reduce.
Confidentially can be an issue for some people, for example they just don’t have a private area of their home where they can talk.
Occasionally, if this is the case, some clients might jump in their vehicle and go for a short drive, attending the session in privacy in their parked car.
I also ask that you respect the NSW Privacy Laws and refrain from recording our session.
What is the process of booking an online session?
It’s actually pretty easy. Simply make contact with me and I will arrange a convenient session time with you.
If this is your first session with me I will send over a couple of forms that you will need to fill in, photograph or scan and return.
If you feel the need to talk to someone, or feel this might be the time to start a process of change or healing, please don’t hesitate to make contact.
Remember, if you need more urgent support, contact LIFELINE on 13 11 14.
